Quiet PC Upgrades

Most HTPC cases are designed to be relatively quiet, when compared to the average desktop computer.  However, for some of us, when it comes to an HTPC or any computer for that matter, there's no such thing as too quiet.  For the obsessive out there (like us!) who don't just want their HTPC to visually blend in to their entertainment center, The HTPC Guy offers several silencing options.  Also, in addition to what is listed below, we also offer Custom Quiet PC Solutions such as: internally mounted hard drive enclosures, use of 2.5 inch Notebook Hard Drives, use of 5400rpm hard drives, liquid cooling, Network Attached Storage solutions (moves the loud stuff to a closet or another room) and more.  Contact us if you have any questions.

   - Extremely high performance and high efficiency heatsink reduces the need for a CPU fan

   - Elimination of the CPU fan reduces case noise and vibration

   - See this review from Silent PC Review of the Ninja Mini CPU cooler

   $40

Note: Passive Cooling is not recommended with certain case configurations or with high heat/wattage CPU's such as

Core 2 Extreme or Core 2 Quad.

In these situations, the Scythe Ninja Mini would be paired with a quiet Scythe PWM CPU fan at no add'l cost.
